Last night I was struggling to come up with something to write about for today. Honestly, you can only talk so much about the following topics; Klay Thompson to the Warriors, Paul Wulff is he on or off the hot seat?, Impact newcomers, and Big Shoes to Fill. Not that these aren't important topics for discussion, but c'mon it's the middle(ish) of June. Click the jump for more.

Huskies and Cougs can't seem to agree about anything, with the lone exception of a unified hatred of Oregon. In the modern world of social media and message boards, any Coug who makes a point will quickly receive a (less accurate, more pompous) counterpoint from a Husky fan. Just joking, Husky fans. Your point might be accurate, but I stand by the other. A common debate I've seen play out online lately has concerned which program currently has the better corps of wide receivers. Let's face it, this is the first time in a little while that we Cougs have had the opportunity to tout our talent, but those pesky Dogs won't let us have our moment. I'm hear to settle the debate so let's break this thing down scientifically...

I've officially been a Coug for almost 12 years and unofficially been one for far longer (something like 17 years if you count when WSU really hit my radar or almost 30 if you're considering the point at which I was genetically predisposed to being a Coug. However long it's been, I've spent a lot of that time realizing some truths: Crimson and Grey are the greatest colors in the world, Busch Light tastes better in Pullman than anywhere else, etc. While the cold hard facts are easy to understand, there are a couple of WSU-related topics that render me baffled. No matter how much time I spend thinking about them, I can never reach an understanding. These are those topics...

With the 11th selection in the 2011 NBA Draft, Klay Thompson has gone to the Golden State Warriors
With tonight's selection, Klay is the highest Cougar ever drafted in the NBA! Don Collins was the previous top pick for Wazzu, going #18 overall in 1980 to the Atlanta Hawks. Mark Hendrickson went 31st overall the Philadelphia 76ers. Three other Cougs have gone in the second round of the NBA draft. Most recently Kyle Weaver, who went 38th overall to Charlotte in 2008. Brian Quinnett went 50th overall to New York in 1989 and Guy Williams, 34th overall to Washington in 1983.
Tonight Klay's journey at Washington State University has come to a conclusion and he will begin his profesisonal career in. Klay, you were a treat to watch the last three seasons in Pullman, I am thrilled to watch you mature into an NBA player!
According to an article on Cougfan, NBAdraft.net is forecasting that WSU fan favorite DeAngelo Casto will be taken by Sacramento with the very last pick -- No. 60 overall -- in the draft. Casto has had workouts with the Kings, Suns, Grizzlies and others in recent weeks.
What are your thoughts on this Cougar Nation?

Paul Wulff is, by all accounts, a very loyal guy.
The oft-criticized WSU head football coach, through three seasons, is working on turning around a program that has sunk to new lows under his watch.
Was it his fault? Not entirely. But on the other hand, he didn't do enough to help his own cause early on in his tenure. Click the button to continue reading.
