Happy Football Friday on a Thanksgiving to you Cougar Nation!
Can you believe the 2011 Apple Cup is barely 48 hours from kickoff? It seems like I was just sitting in the bleachers at Martin Stadium for last year's thriller, and now we're back at it again.
This year's edition will be played at Century Link Field in Seattle as Husky Stadium is undergoing a massive renovation as we speak. This marks the first time since 1980 the game hasn't been played in Pullman or Seattle, and is the first Apple Cup in Seattle to be played at a site other than Husky Stadium in something like 85 years!
Lots is at stake in this one. In particular bowl position for the suddenly reeling Huskies, as well as the status of our Head Coach, Paul Wulff. The only comment I have on Wulff's coaching status, is that I think as long as we are competitive or win, he will return. I also believe if Wulff is to return, you will see a one or two year extension, in-which he will have the same salary, but a contract loaded with incentives. Other than that, I will not comment further until Bill Moos announces his decision. Last year, he announced Paul Wulff's retainment less than 24 hours after the Apple Cup was completed.
Taking a look at our Pick Em Leagues, before jumping into our picks for this weekend. In League One, The General leads the way with 257 points, followed by St Pete Cougs at 252 and Jbobsalo at 246. Over in League Two, you will find How We Do a-top the standings at 49-28, followed by Hawaiian Hentai at 48-29 and C White & Softy Makes Me Puke tied at 47-30. Keep up the good work folks!

Utah 38 - Colorado 17: The Utes return to Salt Lake City looking for victory number eight on the season, and are playing for a shot at the Pac 12 South slot in next week's Conference Championship game with Oregon. Colorado's offensive offense is going to be outclassed in this one!
Cal 35 - ASU 28: It wasn't long ago that Dennis Erickson was looking at Coach of the Year honors in the Pac 12. But after dropping three straight to inferior competition (UCLA, WSU, Zona), I think he would settle to remain employed here.
Oregon 59 - OSU 24: I know it's the Civil War and all, but do you really think this Oregon squad is going to lose two in a row in Eugene? Me neither.
Arizona 65 - ULL 7: Rich Rod isn't calling shots yet, but the Wildcats should run away with this one.
Stanford 31 - Notre Dame 30: I don't think the Cardinal can play in the Pac 12 Championship Game, even with an Oregon loss (not gonna happen), but they are ranked #4 and may receive a BCS at-large bid if they knock off the Irish and Oregon wins out.
USC 49 - UCLA 31: Not to puff my chest too much here, but I did call for the USC upset of Oregon two weeks before it actually happened and then again last week eventhough Oregon had beat Stanford the week prior. Enjoy the wins while you can Trojan fans, because you're in for an interesting three years with those 45 scholies you are going to lose.
WSU at UW Omitted: Earlier this week you saw my keys to the game, and I am sticking by them. However, I have done an atrocious job picking our games since then. I have picked a winner in League One, but am going to leave this one blank and let the Football Gods do what they will here.

Tim's Takes:
Utah 31 - Colorado 7 I'm still bitter about the Utah game so it pains me to pick them to win, but the fact of the matter is that they will. The 2011 Buffaloes will, at long last, be put out of their misery.
California 24 - Arizona State 21 According to Vegas, this counts as an upset special, but since ASU has clearly gone into full-on Reggie Roby mode and punted on this season, it's hard to view it as a surprise. It's probably safe to assume that this is it for Dennis Erickson, right? Two new coaches in Arizona could make things pretty interesting.
Oregon 52 - Oregon State 17 Fortunately for the Ducks, this one won't come down to the feeble leg of Alejandro Maldonado. All this time, we thought that Chip Kelly was some sort of new age weirdo trying to outsmart everyone with his two point conversions. Turns out, he just doesn't think his kicker can make it from 19 yards.
Arizona 42 - Louisana Lafayette 21 Who cares?
Stanford 31 - Notre Dame 20 How inevitable was the Andrew Luck isn't as good as we all thought he was, maybe Matt Barkley might even be better backlash? How about this wacky idea? They are both really good quarterbacks, but we have no clue how they'll do in the NFL until they're in the NFL? We do know that Luck will finally have a quality wide receiver to throw to once he goes pro, unless of course he ends up on the Browns.
USC 30 - UCLA 13 I said this last week, but are we really, really, really, really sure we can't just let USC play in the Pac-12 title game? I think everyone would be OK with it. Also, am I nuts to think that Matt Barkley may come back to SC next year to enjoy a year of college football during which he actually has something to play for?
WSU 38 - UW 35 For my reasons why, check out yesterday's post in case you missed it.
