Super Bowl Cougs!

Written by Longball on .

So we've all wondered what Bill Moos was talking about when he told folks at the Night with Cougar Football to stay in their seats during the super bowl commercials.

Amieable and I just saw what he was talking about, check it out!

This is awesome! Bill Moos knows how to sell his product.

By the way anyone know a timeline for how long the design phase for the new stadium renovations will take? I really want to see some drawing of what this whole thing is going to look like.

I saw it on DirecTV in Pullman. We're part of the Spokane market so I assume it was an E. Wa. only commercial. The minute I saw it I knew it was local because of the picture quality. It was not in HD, and all the national commercials are shot in HD nowadays.

@Upthewazzu No one was thinking it was national... we were just hoping it made it over to Seattle.

I didn't see it in Sno County. Did the whole three minute clip run?

@LucasNurmi Not in Pullman...we saw a much shorter version. Go to youtube and search "WSU super bowl commercial"

Yeah, I kinda figured it must've been in eastern/central washington, because it was during a block of local ads.

We saw it on Time Warner cable here in Pullman

I didn't see it in Tacoma. Cool spot though. Also I don't mind being called Wazzu, I think it adds a little character to our image.

Love Wazzu - it's our identity.

Unfortunately i dont know if the commerical made it over to the west side of the state. My family didnt see it (which may be simply due to not paying attention) and they live in Vancouver. We also didnt see it on campus oddly enough.. But i would blame that on the fox directv debacle up in spokane.. we are getting fox out of seattle right now.

It was aired in Central Washington and it was great. I hope it aired farther than that though. I did get a call from my uncle asking about the whole game day thing so I guess it at least brought attention to i9t for the casuaul sports fan around here.

I was watching the Super Bowl here in Seattle, including the pre-game stuff, but didn't see the WSU commercial aired where I was. I'm assuming this was localized to only the eastern part of Washington?

Do we know how widely this was seen? Was it only eastern washington, or was it the entire state, or maybe even larger than that?

And I don't really mind being called Wazzu, I think it's a cool name.

@TruCoug89 I didn't see it in Seattle. It is possible I was distracted at that moment but I think I saw all or almost all the commercials.

Just a thought about last night's game. Obviously it wasn't the prettiest win, but a W is a W and we'll take it.
BTW does it bother anyone else that the network announcers call us Wazzu instead of Cougars, or Washington State, or just plain WSU? I know that's sometimes how we refer to ourselves, but somehow coming from them is sounds pretty minor league.

Good Stuff guys!
If someone asks or comments, just say, "It's a Coug thing, you wouldn't understand."
