Campaign Heating Up?

Greetings, Cougar Nation. Hope you all are having a great week.

Well, as many of you know, we have been "involved" for the past few months in trying to generate an on-line giving campaign to help complete phase three of the Martin Stadium renovation project.

And, as most of you also know, I, Sir BH, have basically taken the roll of being the bride who is left waiting aimlessly for the big dog (e.g. The Athletic Foundation) to meet me at the alter.

So, last week, I had had enough of the waiting and put up a post that reflected my frustration.

Then, within an hour of the start of the work day, our best friend and comrade, Justin Felker got back to me. So, I took down the post. A week after that (yesterday), he got back to me again with an update.

So, here it is:

Currently, staff from the Athletic Foundation are working to create a shadow site/portal that will be used by our site and others to solicit and receive the on-line donations that will comprise our little campaign. While no one is talking firm dates at this point, I am hopeful that we will have something up and running by the 4th of July.

So, with that in mind, I hope that you all will stick a five spot (or more) in the ole Piggy Bank today:

Our day of helping to re-build our program and its infrastructure from the bottom up is truly forthcoming.

Have a great week, y'all.

Glad to hear some new info FINALLY!

This is one HUGE problem that I see with the Athletic Department though.... There is a web community BEGGING to have a user friendly way to donate to the program and the AD is just dragging its feet. They have totally blown their opportunity to capitalize on the Apple Cup situation and use the media attention to their benefit.

It absolutely drives me crazy how the AD is ALWAYS behind the 8-ball when it comes to donations. They should be encouraging groups to do what is being done by this site instead of wasting MONTHS and huge amounts of momentum.

Good luck with this struggle, hopefully the school will get it's act together and aid what amounts to the web community doing their job for them.

Nick Montana is heading to the UW. I can't wait to see Joe at the Coug after Apple Cups!

Anybody see where two more Cougar safeties were arrested earlier this week? LeAndre Daniels and Tyree Toomer. Multiple thefts. FML, what is going on over there?

Thanks for the tip Lucas. Wouldn't it be nice to see the team just stay out of the news for a while? I don't know if two guys stealing makes it a problem for recruiting, but man, when you add up all the things that have happened, it just SUCKS!

Man, it wasn't that long ago I was there. 2002-2006. I don't ever remember shit like this going down. Guys getting drunk and maybe smoking some pot. I think Kevin McCall was the worst incident my whole time on campus.
