Breaking News: Ocho No-No

This just in from the evil Vince Grippi, lord of the sith:

Marshall has torn BOTH his ACL and MCL and is done for the year.

Obviously, this is more horrible news.

At this point, with #8s long-term status in question, I think that you have to look at J.T.

With 6 more games on the slate, that's a lot of time for him to get some serious reps.

Then again, can he survive more than a couple games with our-Line?

Chime in.

A microcosm of our season - rewatch the play where 8 goes down and watch the left tackle. The DE is two steps out of his stance (slight exaggeration) before our LT even moves - and NO, he wasn't offside - our tackle was THAT slow.

The irony of it is that it was Lobbestael's former HS teammate, Will Hunter that got beat so badly. You think they'll still ride together back to Oak Harbor for Christmas break?

I have no idea of JT is actually a viable option or was he given a gift scholarship because of his father? Not saying that is what it is going on but is he a real talent? Ride Lopina till he gets hurt and then decide. But Yikes.

I say go with JT. Lopina never showed us anything.

So THIS is what happens when you cannot block anyone....poor Marshall. Just another to throw on the growing pile of the walking wounded. Torn ACL-MCL used to end careers, but with medical science-n-such, he could be fine by August.

I am not sure on JT's redshirt. Wulff was asked about him after the Portland State game, and he said they really hold him in high regard and want to preserve that redshirt (I guess having open campus tryouts at the position speaks volumes?). But Wulff said in the radio show that week that they thought he was really coming on and improving and they wanted to keep that redshirt. Maybe it will all change, because after Lopina who the hell knows. You hate to burn the redshirt, but at the same time, there's still a good chunk of season left. I just hate to think of what must be going through a young QB's mind with this atrocious offensive line!

I think it's pretty clear that I should try out for quarterback. I've got as good a chance as anybody at this point even though I'm a girl and I'm old.

Amieable, at this point, it couldn't hurt? Well, I guess it could if you actually had to play in a game. You may walk with a severe limp the rest of your life. Besides, you are a Husky aren't you? I don't think that's allowed.

Some are saying they think JT has greater upside than Lobbestael. Better arm, much better legs, and better feel. He looked like he wanted to go in on the sideline and you like to see that. Maybe a Jonathon Smith in the making?

Wow! It's not safe to be under center right now. What can you expect when you lose a couple qb's against PSU?

I say open tryouts, and march that poor son of a bitch out for the slaughter.

Wherefore art thou Cole Morgan?

Heck with Morgan! What about Hall???

Just imagine if the cougs still had Mike Reilly as their signal caller, who by the way is in the running for the Davey O'Brien quarterback of the year award at CWU!!!

It's sad but Reilly prbably has a better shot of getting to the NFL at CWU than behind the line at WSU right now.

It is too bad Hall couldn't get his act together. He's still looks a little tubby so I don't know if he would have fit with what Wulff wants from his players.

Funny, but there was a time when Internet posters were saying how stupid it was to have 6 qbs on the roster. That's why there is no such thing as depth.

What a bummer. It would be a shame to burn JT's redshirt.

Not sure if its been suggested before, but why not just run a simplified Wild Hog offense and stick a running back there.

I mean, we are going to lose every game anyways. Mind as well keep our young players out of harms way in a completely meaningless season. Plus, the games would end sooner by running every play.

The problem with the Wild Hog O, is that we are on our 3rd and 4th string RBs as well!
